Well, today ended our missions conference and while ending that, we had heavy hearts. Saturday afternoon we got a phone call from Pastor telling us that a friend of ours in the church had been injured in a softball game. George plays on our church league but also plays on a different league in town.
He had cought a line-drive and the softball hit him right below the jaw bone on the neck. He immediately fell to the ground with his heart stopping. They were able to get his heart working again right before he was life flighted to Fairfax Hospital and was pronounced dead at 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
Larry and I ran up to the hospital around 4 p.m. Friday night and left around 1:30 a.m. The ride home was quiet as we both just sat there thinking how the little things in life just aren't as important as we think they are. Our lives are but a vapor... if you were to die today, where would you spend eternity? Heaven and hell are real, and right now, Heaven is so much sweeter and I'm sure funnier!
I had just talked to him on Monday afternoon... and now, he's in Heaven with Jesus. Wow! Do I envy George right now. George was literally the FUNNIEST person I have ever met! He would make you laugh until you cried!
He has gone on all of the construction mission trips ever since they've had them including this past one to Papua New Guinea in January. He had his own construction company and has built many houses for people in our church. We had hoped to have him build one for us one day...
Here is George in Papua New Guinea standing beside my brother on the right and the native on the left (George is the second one from the end )
We are all going to miss George but know that one day, we WILL see him again!

Wow...we will be praying for his family and for you guys. So sad he was so young, but a comfort to know he's in heaven. Honestly, this may not help but I believe with all my heart Jesus could come back any day now...you will see him again soon! :) That's what helped me so much when my friend Heidi died a few mos. ago.
