Sunday Night, August 30th...

We have been waiting for this night for several months and it finally came. The church surprised Pastor & Susan with a 20th anniversary service/reception this past Sunday night. They have been at Temple for 20 years and we wanted to show them our appreication.

We announced this to the church the week they were gone on vacation and told everyone to keep it a surprise and we pulled it off! Sunday night, everything was normal in the service up until handshaking time. Then Larry told Pastor to have a seat on the front row with his wife that we were "hijaacking" the service! They were blown away! So I'll tell the rest of the story as I show pics.

Here is Pastor looking at his order of service wondering why the choir was up there and it wasn't on his sheet....

Larry letting them know what that night was all about...

Yes, very surprised!!! We flew her brother and sister-in-law from Colorado (that's who sitting down from them)

The choir and teens sang "Value of One"

Susan has tought K4 for 18 years... we had some of the kids she has tought from our church sing her a song that they learned in her class... "A Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich"

Sam, our school principal introducing the dvd presentation... Several of their pastor friends had sent in a video congratulating them for 20 years in the ministry...

Men's quartet sang "I Cheer You On" -the words were so fitting for the service!

Their son, Jeremy flew in early (surprised them) from Africa to preach in the service...

DeLaine (who was the secretary when they first came) presented Susan with her flowers...

One of the deacons presenting them with their BEAUTIFUL wooden-engraved plaque...

And the best... the Pittman's grandkids getting ready to walk down to place leis on their necks...

We presented them with a 10 day trip to Hawaii and a $5,000 check. They'll be going in September!!

Off to the reception...

Their cake down at the reception...

The cake table was covered with some of their favorite sweets! I LOVED this table!

We decorated the reception with her favorite flower-yellow roses...

Can't have a reception without chocolate fountains!
